I am a mum of two who works as a full-time nurse at a nursing home in the state of Washington, USA.
But the realisation that I’m not going to be able to support my family of four is making me even more determined to move to a country that can offer a better life for me and my family.
I have a degree in English, but I’ve never been to England.
I’m originally from Australia and I’m a huge fan of rugby league.
My mum has been watching the English game in my home country.
When I told her about the possibility of going to England and learning English, she was ecstatic.
It would be like going back to my home in Australia, she said.
My family, my grandparents and aunt have all been through similar journeys to get to where they are.
My mother and my sister have gone to the UK.
I grew up in Australia and went to university in England.
My dad is a medical doctor.
I am an English teacher.
I have a PhD and I teach English and medical students in England and Australia.
I’ve always been a British citizen.
When I was in primary school, I went to a children’s camp in the UK and had the opportunity to go to a football game with my friends.
I was very impressed with the professionalism of the people and the way the games were run.
I wanted to go again, and my friends thought that was a great idea.
I then moved to a family farm in Tasmania where I spent the better part of two years.
When we returned to the United Kingdom, I did the best I could to get the visa.
Then I went back to Australia and was told I was too old to stay in Australia.
The thought of going back made me want to move back.
So, when I heard that the British government was closing down the nursing home where I was staying, I was a little scared, especially since it was so close to my family’s house.
After my family moved to the US, I applied for my UK visa in June 2017 and got the green light in August.
I had a great time in the US.
I enjoyed the country a lot.
I liked the atmosphere, the culture, the people, the food, the movies.
And I had an opportunity to live in a beautiful place, which is exactly what I was looking for.
Now that I am here, I am looking forward to spending more time with my family and friends.
But, I can’t help but think that if I had lived in Australia for five years, I would have left at some point.
I would be looking forward with baited breath to come home to England one day.
